Diversity and Racial Reconciliation

Diversity is an important thing to discuss and recognize. I personally enjoyed diversity week very much because i love learning about other cultures. I'm gald that a video was shown about diversity and had a lot of people discuss their personal issues and how they felt about diversity. It gave me a better sense of the subject and made me realize that it is something that is very important to talk about. I don't actually see any racial discrimination partially because I'm basically a hermit and enjoy being in my room rather than interacting with other people outside of my room but I am glad that beginnings showed that video on it and it helped me remember that it still is an issue in America as well as on the APU campus.

Global Vision Week

I think that it was a good idea to have global vision week. I think that it is very important for everybody to learn more about the other countries in this world and what we need to do to helpt them to become better countries so that so many people don't have to suffer any longer. I learned that we need to go all over the world and share the gospel with the countries that need it the most. This was very significant to my life because I have a passion to help the orphaned children in Brazil. It is one of my career options and I'm glad that beginnings actually had a class sension that was very personal to my life and that I could relate to on a deeper level.

Holocaust speaker

When the Holocaust speaker came to talk to out beginnigs on thursday I wasn't expecting her to tell us everything that she did. The Holocaust speakers that I have heard have not been as describtive as she was. I learned a lot from her and what she had to go through in the camps. I thought that she was very brave to come and speak to as many people as she did about the horrors of living in those nazi camps. I am very grateful that we had to oppurtunity to hear her speak about the Holocaust from her point of view. I am also very glad she came because it is different from just reading it in a book, if someone had a question she was right there to answer. I thought that it was a great beginnings class.
